Switch business units

A business unit is an organizational department within a utility, typically based on function (gas, water) or geographic location, for which Itron has created an account on the FDM Tools server. Your Field Tools user account determines the business unit(s) you can work in, and your account can access only the devices and settings defined in the business unit. Your Field Tools user can be assigned to more than one business unit.

If your Field Tools user account is assigned to two or more business units, you can switch between them to complete the tasks required of you as needed. A drop-down business unit selector on the Field Tools home screen allows you to quickly and conveniently switch business units.

If your Field Tools user account is assigned to a single business unit, you can tap the business unit selector to view the business unit name to which you're assigned, but you can't switch—or otherwise manage—your business unit associations from the Field Tools app.
